In May, 2017, I decided to set up my own small, independent publishing company, to provide a platform for new and innovative work, both poetry and prose. The first Turas Press publication was my own collection of poetry, “So Long, Calypso”. This was followed in September by Ross Hattaway’s collection, “How to Sleep with Strangers.” The third Turas Press book came out in February – Anamaría Crowe Serrano’s exciting experimental series of poems with the intriguing title “Crunch.” That was followed by my own first novel, “Canticle,” which was launched in May, 2018.
Turas Press books are available in bookshops in Dublin and around the country. The poetry and prose presented by Turas Press is also promoted through occasional readings. The photo above shows me, Anamaría and Ross at the very successful Sunday afternoon reading hosted by Books Upstairs in Dublin on January 14th.
And here are Ross and I signing our books at The Listeners reading in Rathfarnham.
In the coming years, Turas Press will be publishing a small number of high-quality books, both poetry and prose, every year. Submission details are on the website. If you’d like to know more about Turas Press, do head over to http://www.turaspress.ie
